Each Lack of Color piece is thoughtfully designed so each shape and silhouette will vary slightly in how it fits.

How to find your hat size

We have a few simple tips to help you find the perfect sized hat for YOU. To measure your head accurately, you will need a cloth measuring tape. We also recommend you have assistance from another person, to ensure accuracy.

All Lack of Color hats are sized in centimetres, as such we recommend using a metric ruler and measuring your head in CM.

How to find your fit

How would you like to wear your hat? Select from the options listed below and follow the instructions of your preferred option to measure your head.

Be sure to follow the instructions of your preferred option, there are significant differences between them.

Option 1: Traditional

This is the “traditional” style of wearing a hat. Choose this option if this is the way you will choose to wear your hat.

1. Place your cloth measuring tape around your head over your occipital bone (the furthest part on the back of your head).

2. Bring the measure around to the front of your head. About 5 mm above your ears and position it in the centre of your forehead, or just above the eyebrows (depending on where you want your hat to sit). Make sure the tape is sitting comfortably, this is how the hat will sit on your head.

3. Check what size your measuring tape says. If in between sizing, we recommend sizing up and adding a hat filler to your order to tailor the hat to fit your head perfectly.

Option 2: Halo Style

This is the “halo” style of wearing a hat. Choose this option if this is the way you will choose to wear your hat.

1. Place your cloth measuring tape around your head over your occipital bone (the furthest part on the back of your head).

2. Bring the tape measure around to the front of your head. About 5 mm above your ears and position it at the top of your forehead (beginning of hairline). Make sure the tape is sitting comfortably, this is how the hat will sit on your head.

3. Check what size your measuring tape says. If in between sizing, we recommend sizing up and adding a hat filler to your order to tailor the hat to fit your head perfectly.

We recommend storing your hat in our hat boxes. This will keep your hat clean and preserve its shape.

Alternatively, store it on a flat surface and avoid hanging it on the wall to prolong your hat's life.

We do not recommend getting your LOC hat wet, if you do pat it dry with a towel.

Avoid prolonged sun exposure to minimize discoloration.

Perfect hat for spring & summer
This was one of the other hats that I got a 2 for 1 deal at a local boutique here in my town. I can’t believe the great deal I got on it. It’s such a beautiful and fabulous hat. The green ivy makes it look so sophisticated and stylish. Plus it’s ultra comfortable and made so well like all of Lack of Color hats. I make sure to take good care of them so they stay looking brand new and will last me a lifetime. If you have a smaller head then the small should be a great fit for you. It fits me perfectly. If your in between sizes, then buy the fitting tape and you can fit into almost any size if you’re say in between sizes small and a medium like I am in some style. The hat tape really makes all the difference. Thankfully I got a size small in this hat and it fit like a dream. Not to mention it looks amazing too. I’ve had tons of compliments on this hat because it really stands out in a beautiful way. I absolutely love every hat this company makes and can’t wait to take advantage of their sale they are having right now. Always be sure to stock up on the hats you’ve had your eye on because they don’t have a ton of these hats. Get them while you can. Trust me.

Perfect hat
Absolutely love this hat, fits perfectly, size is accurate as per size chart. Stylish and easy to match multiple outfits. Lost the count how many hats I have already from Lack of Color, but I will be buying more.
